Halloween Fun

Our Halloween started off with getting Jacob and Colton all dressed up for school. Clara, Levi and I then went over to the school to watch their costume parade. Here is a better picture of Colton in his costume as promised in my previous post. He had a fun time being Frankenstein at school. He came home and said "everyone thought my costume was so cool. They called me Frank all day." Jacob's morning didn't go quite as well. His caveman tunic fell in the toilet when he went to the bathroom. He found me at the costume parade, his eyes welling up with tears. So I checked him out, went home and cleaned his costume and took him back. Very traumatic!
While they were at school Clara and Levi carved a pumpkin. After school it was trunk-or-treat time. Our neighborhood does this every year. We have mixed feelings about it. It's fun to get together with everyone and see all the costumes but it is just not the same as good ol' trick-or-treating. It was a fun time. There was even a headless horseman that rode through on a big black horse. It was so cool. We also had great apple cider, hot chocolate and doughnuts. Levi was the cutest little trick-or-treater. He didn't know what was going on. But it sure was exciting.
So as if they hadn't got enough candy, we headed over to Grandma's to trick-or-treat her neighborhood. This way they didn't miss out on what Halloween is all about. Here they are with their loot.

Jacob was very excited that one house gave out king size candy bars.

The kids had such a fun time and we had a blast watching them. Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

You kids costumes are so cute. Did you make them? Ours were so lame this year. I was in charge of the book fair at the middle school so I was busy with that all week and then Haydens baptizm the day after halloween and so I was trying to put that togeather. I just told my kids to find something in the costume tub. It was sure a lot cheaper

What cute costumes! It looks like the kids got loaded up with candy! I'm sure Clara loved every minute of it! You're right about the trunk-or-treating. It is safer, but it definitely takes the fun out of it.
