Back to School

Jacob and Colton started school on Monday. Jacob is now in third grade! I swear I just took him to his first day of kindergarten last month. My how the years fly by. His teacher is Miss Thinn. He seemed pretty excited. He was a bit nervous. I walked them over to the school and he wanted me to help him find where he lined up. When I left him on the playground I asked if he would be embarrassed if I gave him a hug and he said " no mom don't." Break my heart.

Colton is now in first grade. He is gone for 6 hours without his mom. His teacher is Ms. Yerkes. I'm just glad he has a teacher. They had a big jump in enrollment and were short a few teachers. He was listed in one of the classes without a teacher. They hired her less than a week before school started. I don't know where they found her. She seems pretty nice and she has 20 years of teaching experience. I just hope she has a whole lot of patience. Colton was most excited about school lunch. I couldn't sense any nervousness in him. When I walked them to school he ran ahead and when I caught up to him he ran off again. He wanted to do it all on his own.

I am always a little sad at the beginning of the school year. With each new grade they seem to grow up so much. I do enjoy those six hours though when I'm down to two kids. It gives me a chance to enjoy Clara and Levi a bit more. I don't know what I'll do when they're in school. I don't even want to think about it. Here's to a great new school year!

It is such a sad day. I felt the same way. It is so hard to send them off. I can't believe we both have a 3rd grader! Are we getting old or what? Their pictures are so cute!
